Negation of 都 dōu (= all)

Two cases must be differentiated: In the first case the verb is negated, in the second case the 都 dōu.

都 dōu (= all) + 不 bù (= not) + verb

不 bù (= not) + 都 dōu (= all) + verb

他	们	都	不	是	德	国	人	。
tā	men	dōu	bù	shì	dé	guó	rén	_
he	pl suffix	all	not	be	virtue	country	person	_
they		all, both, already, even	no, not, after negative question: yes	to be, correct, yes	a German			。
All of them are not Germans (= none of them is German).

他	们	不	都	是	德	国	人	。
